Payments introductions and advice, UK-based

Find the right payment partner, without learning it the hard way.

I'm Marc Conway. Twenty years in payments across the UK, Europe, the US and the Gulf, and I have seen most of the ways an account, a card programme or an onboarding can quietly go wrong. Fintechs, platforms and merchants come to me for accounts, IBANs, cards, acquiring and cross-border payouts. I find you a licensed provider that genuinely fits, then stay in the room until your first transaction clears.

Payment partners for regulated and fast-moving businesses.

Tell me what you need to move, where, and how much. I introduce you to a licensed institution that can actually serve you, and I help you through their onboarding.

Not sure what you need?

Most people arrive with a problem, not a product. An account frozen on a Friday afternoon. A corridor that will not settle. A card programme stuck in someone's legal queue. A provider that took one look at the sector and went quiet.

Tell me a few details and I will come back within a working day with a route, not a sales pitch.

From first enquiry to first transaction.

Onboarding is where most payment projects lose the weeks nobody budgeted for. I get you ready before it starts.

Tell me what you need

Products, markets, volumes and timing. A short form or a call, whichever suits you.

Get introduced

I point you at a licensed provider whose risk appetite and products actually fit, and make the introduction myself.

Prepare the onboarding

We get the KYB pack right the first time, so compliance has no reason to send it back.

Go live

The provider approves and opens your account. I stay involved through integration and those nervy first transactions.

My role, and the provider's.

7 Seas Consultants holds no banking, payment or e-money licence and is not authorised by the FCA or any other regulator. I never hold, move or touch client money. That line matters, so I keep it clear.

What I do

  • Work out what you actually need to move, where and how much
  • Recommend and introduce licensed providers that fit your sector and risk profile
  • Get you ready for their onboarding and answer their questions alongside you
  • Stay involved until your first transactions, and advise wherever you need it

What the licensed provider does

  • Opens and runs your account, issues the cards and processes your payments
  • Holds and safeguards your funds under its own licence
  • Runs the KYB and AML checks and decides whether to take you on
  • Sets its own terms, pricing and service levels with you directly

Need advice rather than an account?

The advisory side is built around each client and starts with a free discovery call. Most of it is research, RFI and RFP work, and benchmarking. The unglamorous things that quietly save real money.

  • Research and market intelligence on providers, competitors and regulation
  • RFI and RFP preparation and management, from first requirements to award
  • Pricing, contract and performance benchmarking

Straight answers, a written scope before any work starts, and every fee or interest declared up front. You will always know whose side I am on, because it is yours.

My promise
Every engagement run by me, personally

7 Seas Consultants at a glance.

The questions I get asked most, answered straight.

What does 7 Seas Consultants do?

7 Seas is a UK payments consultancy based in Elstree, Hertfordshire. I introduce fintechs, platforms and merchants to licensed providers of business accounts, IBANs, card issuing, acquiring and cross-border payouts, and I advise payment businesses, investors and boards on research, RFI and RFP procurement, benchmarking and strategy. In plain terms: I help you find the right payments partner and then hold your hand through the fiddly bit.

Are you a bank or a payment provider?

No, and that is rather the point. 7 Seas Consultants Ltd holds no banking, payment or e-money licence and never touches your money. The accounts, cards and payments all come from the licensed institutions I introduce you to, under their own terms and checks. It keeps my advice honest.

How much does an introduction cost?

An introduction costs you nothing. A provider may pay me an introducer fee, and if they do, I tell you in writing before I introduce you. Consultancy work is a fixed fee or a day rate, agreed in a written scope before anyone starts. No meters running quietly in the background.

Who do you work with?

Fintechs and PSPs, banks and EMIs, marketplaces and platforms, payroll and contractor businesses, digital asset firms, online merchants including the higher-risk sort, and investors and boards sizing up a payments business, across the UK, Europe, the US and the UAE.

Who actually does the work?

I do. Marc Conway, founder and sole director, with more than twenty years in payments and networking across the UK, Europe, the US and the UAE. When a job needs an extra pair of expert hands I bring in people from a network I have built and trust, but the person you talk to is the person doing the thinking.

How do I get started?

Book a free discovery call from the contact page. No two businesses are the same, so I start by understanding yours and the decision in front of you, then either point you at a route or send a proposal written for your situation, not a template.

Looking for accounts, cards or acquiring?

Tell me a bit about your business and what you need to do. I reply within a working day with a route worth considering, or an honest no if I am not the right person.
